Coming December 2026 · iPhone and iPad

One journal for every place life takes you.

Thirty-six journals, each written for one part of life: grief, a career, a wedding, parenthood, recovery, a move, a new car and more. Every journal is free to write in.

The library

Thirty-six journals. Three come with a free guided program.

The Today screen: a guided Fitness session, with Free Flow and Quick Reflection below
A pause before writing: Take a deep breath. Open your mind. Write your heart out.
The first question of the Grief journal, with feelings to choose from and a line on where to find support

A page that waits for you

A breath first. Then one question at a time.

Every journal asks its own questions, written for its subject. Each draft is saved as you go, and the journals on hard subjects say plainly where to find support.

The places in your life

A place is what an entry is about.

  • the kitchen table
  • the office you’re leaving
  • the hospital corridor
  • the car on the way home

Write about any of them from wherever you are. Each place gathers its entries, notes, photos and short sound recordings into a Space, so you can read your life back by where it happened.

The app never asks for your location. The places are yours to name.

The Spaces tab: the car, the desk, the kitchen table and other places, each with its journal entries
The Timeline, with entries gathered by journal

Read it back

Every entry stays in its place.

Your Timeline shows everything you’ve written by day and by journal, with search across every entry. A Home Screen widget can bring a gentle prompt back to you.

Private by design.

Journals on hard subjects point to real help, and Settings lists helplines, including a finder that works in any country. The GPS Journals is a journaling tool, not a medical or crisis service.

Free to write. Premium to be guided.

Free

  • All 36 journals, with Free Flow, Quick Reflection, Spaces, the Timeline and search
  • The General, Fitness and Anxiety guided programs
  • iCloud sync, encrypted backups and reminders

GPS Journals Premium

An optional yearly subscription that adds:

  • The guided programs for the other 33 journals
  • PDF export of one entry, a whole journal or everything you’ve written

Your writing is never locked. If Premium ends, every entry stays readable, every journal stays free to write in, and a program you have already started keeps running.
