The GPS Journals
The GPS Journals is a journaling app for iPhone and iPad, arriving in December 2026. It has no account: your journal lives on your devices and, if you keep sync on, in your own private iCloud.

Common questions
Does it track my location?
No. The app never asks for your location. In GPS Journals a place is what an entry is about, like the kitchen table or the office you’re leaving, and you can write about it from wherever you are. Location data is also removed from photos you add.
Is it free?
Every journal is free to write in, and the guided programs for the General, Fitness and Anxiety journals are free. GPS Journals Premium, an optional yearly subscription, adds every other guided program and PDF export. If it ends, everything you wrote stays readable and every journal stays free to write in.
How do I sync between my iPhone and iPad?
iCloud sync is on by default, using the Apple Account signed in on each device. You can turn it off in Settings › iCloud sync. Drafts, programs and preferences stay on the device they were made on.
Can you recover my journal if I lose my recovery key?
No. Automatic backups are sealed with a recovery key the app shows you once. It is never sent to us, so we cannot recover it, and we cannot restore writing we never had. Keep the key somewhere safe.
How do I delete everything?
Settings › Data & reset › Erase everything & start over erases your writing from the device and turns off sync and backup. To remove copies already in iCloud, open the iOS Settings app › your name › iCloud › Storage, tap GPS Journals, then tap Delete Data from iCloud.
How do I cancel the subscription?
GPS Journals Premium is billed by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Erasing the app’s data does not cancel billing.
