The GPS Journals Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the GPS Journals app, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Use of the App

GPS Journals is a personal journaling tool for individual, non-commercial use. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others. The app is licensed to you through the App Store, under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement as well as these terms.

3. Your Content

Everything you write, and every photo and recording you add, is yours. It is stored on your device and, if you use iCloud sync or automatic backup, in your own iCloud storage. We do not host your content and claim no rights to it.

4. Subscriptions

Every journal is free to write in. The guided programs for the General, Fitness, and Anxiety journals are free. All other guided programs, and exporting your writing as a PDF, are part of GPS Journals Premium, an auto-renewable yearly subscription purchased through your Apple Account. Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically each year at the price shown at purchase unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel the subscription anytime in your Apple Account's subscription settings, and restore a previous purchase with the Restore Purchases option. If a subscription ends, everything you have written remains readable, every journal remains free to write in, the free guided programs remain fully available, and a guided program you have already started keeps running. Starting another Premium program, or exporting a PDF, needs an active subscription.

5. Your Devices and Keys

There is no GPS Journals account. Your journal lives on your devices and in your iCloud, so keeping your device, your Apple Account and any backup recovery key safe is up to you. We never receive your recovery key and cannot recover it, and we cannot restore writing we never had.

6. Not a Medical or Crisis Service

GPS Journals is a journaling tool, not a medical or crisis service; if you need help now, contact your local emergency services or open Settings › Help & support › Support & crisis lines.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to misuse the app, interfere with its operation, or use it to harass or harm others.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep backups of writing that matters to you. Use the app at your own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always in the app with its date. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the revised terms.
